Our storyOne of the island’s oldest community clubs.
Founded in 1949, the Orcas Island Sportsmen Club is a private nonprofit that offers shooting programs for members and the non-member public.
Tradition of safety and stewardship
We are proud of our tradition of safety, education, conservation, and community involvement. Facilities include shotgun sports fields, a large-bore rifle range, a sheltered small-bore rifle and pistol range, an archery range, and a clubhouse on forested grounds.
Free instruction is offered on a limited basis for beginners, including both children and adults. Special events during the year invite the general public.
Aims and purposes
- Promote camaraderie and good fellowship while keeping sport shooting, hunting, and fishing consistent with conservation of natural resources.
- Be as family oriented and all inclusive as possible.
- Foster education of members and particularly youth in conservation, sportsmanship, marksmanship, and safe firearms use.
- Provide a local forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
